Esther Walker, PhD

SENIOR RESEARCH MANAGER

Esther started cycling for transportation while working towards her PhD in Cognitive Science at UC San Diego, and hasn’t been able to put down a bike since. At Outride, she’s able to combine her background in human cognition and data science with her passion for getting people excited about riding bikes, be it for transportation, recreation, racing, or anything in between. In her role, Esther collaborates with a wide range of researchers and works with schools and community organizations to leverage the power of data and research to better understand how cycling can help youth, and their communities, become both happier and healthier. She is also passionate about sharing stories through data and helps to equip programs with tools and reports that demonstrate impact. In her free time, Esther loves wandering through trails, playing music, and introducing others to the wonderful world of cycling.

Chazz Robinson

SENIOR PROGRAM MANAGER

Chazz is passionate about empowering youth and leading programs to support and diversify the next generation of cyclists. Although basketball and track and field were his first sports loves, Chazz fell in love with cycling during the COVID-19 pandemic as an outlet for stress and to improve his mental health. His passion for community-building has grown since finding other amazing folks to ride and share a love of the bike. Chazz brings a background in development and education to the team--from spearheading fundraising efforts for a local youth group home in Accra, Ghana, teaching underserved middle and high school youth with Teach For America, coaching a youth basketball team, and most recently leading a grant program for public schools. Chazz believes in the power of movement, sport, and exercise in educational and community settings and is here to help make it happen. In his downtime, Chazz is looking forward to adventuring out with his dog, Jack, and grinding more gravel roads in Colorado on his gravel bike.

During her time as an educator, Bre felt passionately about utilizing movement and social and emotional learning as a base for her students' success. In her personal life, Bre regularly uses exercise including spin, running, and weightlifting as a way to help manage anxiety and assist in her ability to focus. In her downtime, Bre enjoys spending time outdoors or in the sky flying small planes, as a passenger (for now), with her husband, Corey, and their two dogs, Klay and Bailey.

After a few years of joyfully riding to classes at UC Berkeley, Lauren began pursuing longer road cycling excursions around Southern California with her grandfather. Outside of cycling and researching, Lauren enjoys many modes of adventure activities and is always excited to get others outside and chat about travels and trails.
